One of the original beautiful, chocolate -foliaged actaeas which was difficult to get until tissue-culture propagation. Still slow though so avoid buying tiny plants. Fragrant white, flushed -pink upright racemes on this one. There's a lovely photo of this with Rubus cockburnianus "Aureus' in Dan Hinkley's superb book. He recommends Hakonechloa macra "Aureola' too which I am going to try out.
