A very beautiful, strong-growing fern from South America, hardier than people think and suited to the British climate in many ways, but sadly rarely seen outside of fine gardens. Stunning patches of this at Penjerrick garden here in Cornwall, possibly dating from Darwin times, with deepest-green, stiff fronds and opposite pinnae, forming strong clumps in the garden. Nothing like it really.
