Cornus capitata is a stunning tree you would not want to be without here in Cornwall. It was one of the few trees in the garden when I moved here. Problem is most plants are progeny of the early Himalayan introduction and not hardy in colder areas. Covered in plentiful and beautiful creamy-yellow bracts in June and large pendulous fruits in the autumn which the birds love.
BUT.....this is the Chinese form from Yunnan which is identical in all respects but makes a fully hardy handsome small tree.
